What we do

Rental pricing in the US is scattered across thousands of separate websites, which makes it slow to compare and easy to overpay. We index publicly advertised rents the way a search engine indexes the web, clean out the noise (duplicates, junk listings, and prices that are obviously wrong for the unit), and rank what is left from cheapest to most expensive. You get real listings with real prices, the building’s rating, and a link straight to its own website to apply.

Why we exist

Finding an affordable place to live is harder than it should be. The cheapest options are usually buried under sponsored placements and upsells, and a large part of the market sits behind logins and lead-generation paywalls that charge property managers for every renter they reach. We think rent prices are facts, and facts should be easy to find.

So Budget Leases is built the other way around. It is free, it works without an account, nothing is ranked by who paid us, and every listing sends you directly to the property, never to a portal that bills them per lead. We are trying to be the renter-first alternative to an industry that profits from friction.

How it works

  1. Scan. We continuously find apartments advertised across the country.
  2. Clean. We drop duplicates, rental-agency spam, and implausible prices, and we write our own plain-English descriptions rather than copying anyone’s.
  3. Rank. We sort by price so the cheapest real options are first, with filters for beds, budget, and the things that actually matter.
  4. Hand off. When you find one, you go straight to the property’s own site to apply.
