The Cheapest Cities to Rent in Colorado (June 2026)

Data as of Jun 9, 2026 · 993 rentals across 48 Colorado cities

Colorado runs expensive along the central Front Range (Denver, Boulder) and in the mountain resort towns, but there is real value at the edges: the southern Front Range and Western Slope (Pueblo, Grand Junction), the northern cities (Greeley, Loveland), and the cheaper Denver suburbs. We track every apartment we can find and rank the cities below by their typical rent, straight from live listings.

The lowest typical rent right now is in Pueblo (about $1,035/mo), while Boulder sits at the top ($1,995/mo). For most renters the choice is Denver-metro vs the Springs vs the value cities; the bedroom count you need matters from there.

How we rank them

“Typical” is the median rent across everything we track in a city, so half the listings are cheaper and half pricier. “From” is the single cheapest unit listed right now. We include cities with at least five live listings and exclude single rooms and senior housing. Small-city medians can swing on a handful of listings, so the bigger markets like Denver, Colorado Springs, Aurora and Fort Collins are the most stable. Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest city to rent in Colorado?

By typical (median) rent it's Pueblo, around $1,035/mo, then Greeley and Colorado Springs. The best value is on the southern Front Range and Western Slope (Pueblo, Grand Junction, Greeley), well away from Denver, Boulder and the mountain resort towns. The ranking rebuilds from live listings, so it moves with the market.

Is Colorado Springs cheaper than Denver?

Boulder tops the list at about $1,995/mo. The priciest rents are Boulder, the affluent south-Denver suburbs (Castle Rock, Lone Tree, Greenwood Village) and the mountain resort towns. Pueblo, Grand Junction and Greeley are far cheaper.
